Due to the overwhelming support offered by so many people who truly care about the future of Africa's wildlife and wild places, we are very proud to announce that we have formed the Ivan Carter Wildlife Conservation Alliance. This effort was designed exclusively to create support for the many causes we have become part of, and passionately support across Africa. Click the banner below to learn more.

Please note that Ivan Carter, The Outdoor Channel and Shockey productions have no affiliation with any of the causes outlined below.

The way we can make a difference, a profound difference in African wildlife issues is to make sure that there are enough passionate people on the front line with enough support from the passionate people round the world who care about these issues and are prepared to support them. if a million people each send a dollar to a cause - it will have a profound effect.

SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL PARKS

To support the SANParks rangers ,an exceptionally effective and passionate team of individuals, to donate to their needs and in doing so help save the rhinos , elephants and the magnificent ecosystems that they protect every day please go to the Honorary Rangers website – http://www.sanparksvolunteers.org

THE ZULULAND RHINO RESERVE

To support The Zululand Rhino Reserve , Karen Holmes and her team in their exceptional rhino work and what they do to create a balanced ecosystem ,not just the day to day research and management but also the hugely costly protection of these amazing animals.

MIKE TOFT WILDLIFE VETERINARIAN

I have spoken to Mike in depth and there are a lot of wildlife needs in his area that simply cannot be afforded – things like rhino microchip placing , doctoring of bullet wounds sustained in poaching incidents etc etc , Mike is often called in to treat wildlife that is valuable to the population and who has sustained injury but whose owners or custodians cannot afford to treat – to this end he has agreed to start and maintain a fund to be used for this kind of veterinary work.

BUSHMEAT POACHERS

To support Mark Haldane and the efforts that he and his team make on the front line of the bushmeat war , a war that he fights every single day with PROFOUND results – in fact such great results as it is in my opinion an area with possibly the greatest increase in wildlife in the last 20 years anywhere in Africa.

ELEPHANTS  AND ELEPHANT POACHING

Our elephant poaching episode centered around Kruger National Park and while this area has historically not been a major target for poachers I believe its because of exceptional protection -To support the SANParks rangers , to donate to their needs and in doing so help save the rhinos , elephants and the magnificent ecosystems that they protect every day please click the button below.

SOUTHERN AFRICAN WILDLIFE COLLEGE

this is an exceptional institution dedicated to the training of Africans to effectively manage their wildlife resources and natural heritage - its an exceptionally worthy cause dedicated to teaching the skills required to effectively run and manage protected wildlife areas at the college they teach  elements of community relations, conflict resolution, project planning, and financial control, over and above a sound knowledge of ecology, natural resources and wildlife management.

LWIRO CHIMPANZEE SANCTUARY

The LWIRO Chimpanzee Sanctuary is operated by a spanish NGO, Coopera. LWIRO is truly a place of great hope for these intelligent animals. However, based on eastern DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) funding is difficult to obtain. Logistics are impossible, and we have made it one of our priorities to generate the funding they so desperately need. Not just for their development needs, but for the day to day running costs as well which is close to 10,000 dollars a month. In their own words their mission is:

"To Provide the best possible care to orphaned primates in DRC, while working to ensure their protection in the wild”.

Feel free to check out their website for more information at http://www.lwiroprimates.org

GIRAFFE CONSERVATION FOUNDATION

This year I had the privilege of working very closely in several locations with Dr Julian Fennessy. The world's leading authority on giraffe. What I saw and learned truly shocked me. Giraffe are not as common as we all believe, and have already gone extinct in seven countries. Julian and his modest team are working around the clock all over the continent to ensure that this does not repeat itself. The results have truly been very encouraging. Please look for her at the GCF website https://giraffeconservation.org Or to send them a donation click the "Support The Cause of your Choice" banner at the bottom of the page.
